The Crypt of Ajamar

Cold darkness holds court in the Crypt of Ajamar. Long ago, the Sorcerer-King Ajamar made war against the Faerie Lords. Against the ruthless and brutal Torthwgyn, the terrible Faerie Lord thought evil even by his fellow faeries, Ajamar met the most terrible end. The forest of the Faerie Lords expanded, and the Faerie Lords themselves went back to their decadent bickering and betrayals.

Ajamar was interred with his loyal knights and servants in a crypt in a nearby hill. While the forest grew and flourished, the hills of Ajamar's crypt stayed dead and dry. Nothing grows on the Bare Hills, and cold winds blow down south to the small town of Theorinporth. Over time, the crypt was nearly forgotten.

Not long ago, some adventurers came to Thoerinporth. They were in search of magnificent treasures hidden in the old ruins of the area. Most renowned of all is the ancient Crypt of King Ajamar. This adventuring company broke into the crypt, but woke what rested there. Ajamar rose, slew the adventuring intruders, and now prepares to continue the old war he'd lost before against the faeries.

This adventure assumes that faeries are the size of humans. The dungeon was based on the 3 Hexes map I'd posted on my blog, “Green and Verdant.” You can find more information there to expand this adventure beyond the confines of the dungeon, including random events.
